Holiday- Downtown will have all its decorations up- Two MAP's on the 20th, one in the morning at our regular time, 2nd at dusk for a nocturne with all of the Holiday lights on the 20th too)

Artists Honor Caspersen- A Benifit National Exhibit
Aimee Odette & Karen Ann Hitt at the VIP Private Receptions of the opening of "Artists Honor Caspersen- A Benefit National Exhibit" with her painting "Majesty- By Still Waters" Painted for the exhibit.
Karen Ann Hitt the founder of Venice Plein Air (founded 2003), teamed up with Aimee at the Collectors Gallery to present this Benefit Exhibit to honor Caspersens Beach, after it was decimated by back to back hurricanes, and now all roads remain closed to it, since the Hurricanes. Artists from around the country have painted at this beautiful location for Decades. The Exhibit is designed to not only honor the beautiful history of this iconic landmark of Venice FL, that has been forever changed, but to also benefit this hard hit community and one of its most active not for profits VABI- Venice Area Beautification Inc. The Paintings range in dates from 2003-2025... a real picturesque view of the history is on display through the 27th.
36 Artist and upwards of 70 Painting were juried into the exhibit. It is an opportunity to not only collect a piece of history, but to also support this hard hit community in the process.
Karen Ann Hitt also donated An Original Hitt Plein Air Painting 'Venice Area Beautification Inc's Touch' to be awarded in a exclusive drawing taken from all of the names of patrons that purchase a painting during the exhibit. The winner will be drawn 2/27/2025 at the Art Walk. Also on that night, announcing the winners of the Peoples Choice Awards ( 3 Categories) That the community may vote on, during the exhibit. It is a Monetary vote, with funds being split between VABI and the Winning Artists. Making for MULTIPLE ways to donate and collect. You are also entered into another drawing with each of your votes. Artist Honor Caspersen.... and you may be a part of this beautiful piece of history too, not only with your support, with your vote, and with your collecting your own piece of beautiful history. This is a picture taken on location of the Painting. It is now beautifully framed by Collectors Gallery and You Could Win it with your collecting of an original work of Art from the
"Artist Honor Caspersen..." Exhibit.

Artist have been preserving the beauty of Caspersen for years, one painting at a time! Venice Plein Air Partnering with Collectors Gallery & Framery are hosting a benefit National Exhibit to Honor Caspersen while benefiting the community! Caspersen, Hit by back to back hurricanes, its been decimated. All roads remain closed to it. Venice Plein Air founded in 2003 began painting there monthly along with many other groups and artists over the years. ANY Painting from 2003 to 15 January 2025 of Caspersen may be entered to be a part of Artists Honor Caspersen.

So THAT remains our plan for this upcoming season November-April 2022-23, meeting on
1st Monday & 3rd Saturday each month.

We meet 8:30ish - Noonish. Critique if wish starts around 11:30am.
Caspersen's we paint all along the boardwalk, and usually meet down towards the end of the beach along the surf.
Historic Downtown Venice we meet at or around the Gazebo and spread out from there.
Simply look for fellow painters, introduce yourself... and paint on.
Follow our Facebook Page if you can for updates, and will also share there when other painting opportunities are available in our area. Hopefully we will be able to dual MAP with Sharon's Group Peace River Painters, as we annually do. Their area hit hard by Ian.
Karen Ann Hitt, your VPA Facilitator apologizes for so many missed dates in our last season. She herself experienced a flood of her home and many extenuating circumstances where restoration took over a year. Heart goes out to all in the area that are picking up the pieces of their world post Ian. Thankful to be able to still MAP this season... and hope to see lots of familiar faces at our beloved places for some good ole outdoor painting camaraderie... and yes preserving our beloved area with Art!

ALL The out door painting groups work together and hold no boundaries as to participants.

MAP borders in front of the Historic KMI building Venice Mall on Tampa Ave to Venice Ave, Venice FL 34285 Meeting, the Third Saturday of every month. No RSVP needed. This monthly outings are designed for ALL Plein Air Painters in any group. 9am to 1pm aprox
The regular Saturday will be a nice addition for some that aren't available during the week to paint out... so hope this accommodates your schedules
Expect to see Historic downtown districts, Venders, fresh produce, flowers, variety of people, children, pets, Music Playing and Venice has a water fountain park and Gazebo too as a part of the view. Just a few blocks from the Gulf and/or Awesome Banyan trees too. Farmers Market where can meet, but many places to venture to from there too. There are great painting subjects in any direction you turn.

Venice Plein Air is on the south west coast located inside Sarasota County in the Venice area serving nearby communities and keys. We are under the umbrella of Plein Air Florida PAF has many groups through out Florida and the calendar on their web site shares many of the paint outs on schedule. Another group that meets in our nearby area is PASC now known as Light Chasers. Link to their website for more information. Their usual paint out day is Thurs. Mornings.Many Venice artist are a part, and they also meet in Venice on occasion too. There are also two other area Plein Air Groups: Peace River Painters led by Sharon Yarbrough that meets closer to Punta Gorda, but also visits Venice to paint, and an Englewood group.
ALL The groups work together and hold no boundaries as to participants. Sharing members openly.
