It is as simple as that! Meet And Paint! No emails, sign ups or fees, just outdoor painting camaraderie!

Our 2020-2021 Season in a nutshell:

1st Mondays Caspersens, 3rd Saturday Historic Downtown Venice November-April with the 3rd Saturday in January our special community outreach MAP at Venice Urban Forest. We begin each MAP around 8:30-9am. Critique to follow if requested. Special guest painters host.

An Annual Community Outreach and Fundraiser for VABI and Venice Urban Forest opens 3 March 2021 at the Venice Area Beautification Office. Paintings are a culmination from the season, turned in by the artists by 27 February 2021. People's Choice voting starts 3/3/21 with the exhibit opening and runs through 4/3/21. A Monetary 50/50 Fundraiser Artist/Urban Forest a win win for our community. This year TWO peoples Choice Awards; BEST VPA MAP & BEST URBAN FOREST

Why It Matters
Conservation Foundation is partnering with VABI (Venice Area Beautification, Inc.) to reforest the former CSX railroad adjacent to the Venetian Waterway Park. Once completed, the Urban Forest will extend about 1.75 miles and provide a sanctuary for many insects, birds, and animals, and a natural-area park for all to enjoy. Your support is needed now as VABI works to complete the first phase. Gulf Coast Community Foundation has awarded a $100,000 matching grant, raising the visibility of this transformative community project. Your gift will be matched dollar for dollar!

The Urban Forest is integral to the City of Venice's urban design introduced by noted American landscape architect John Nolen in 1926. This greenbelt corridor compliments Nolen's design principles based on "nature leading the way." The Urban Forest will stretch from the Venice Train Depot to Center Road and will provide a beautiful woodland trail for pedestrians parallel to the Venetian Waterway Park. All native trees and shrubs are being planted so that the forest provides habitat specifically for migratory songbirds and native wildlife.

The Venice Plein Air painting group, has now designated the 3rd Saturday in January MAP (Meet And Paint) as their annual visit to the Venice Urban Forest. All Artist's visiting the area invited to be a part, and the paintings in the exhibit reflect vast medium and styles offered in a manner that either 50,70 or 100% of the sale price goes directly back to VABI & Venice Urban Forest. Also you will find that many of the Artists that you collect are offering their work in a manor that you won't want to miss the opportunity to not only collect their work at a great price, donate to Venice Urban's Forest AND having that donation MATCHED 100% ! What could be better?!!??
